"Newcomer Tommy Newport Just Dropped an Impressive First Single" - Complex

"A haze has set in throughout our un-airconditioned top floor office, and needless to say we’re melting. Luckily, this new music video from Tommy Newport is exactly what we need to beat the heat." - High Snobiety

"Tommy Newport’s 'Violet Days' Is a Beautiful, Morose Dream" - Ones To Watch

"Set to the tune of sun-soaked guitar riffs and a voice that encapsulates the feeling of the warm weather, this song immediately identifies itself as a summer hit" - Lyrical Lemonade

Tommy Newport is an 18-year old singer, songwriter and record producer born in Manchester, England. Tommy relocated to the USA with his family when he was 6 years old. From there he bounced around living in Dallas and Seattle before finally settling down in Wichita, Kansas. It’s hard to believe that only 4 years ago, at the age of 14, he picked up his first guitar and changed his whole world. Having a fascination for music his whole life, he took to his parents basement, got himself a Macbook Pro, and taught himself everything. Not only perfecting the art of songwriting, but learning how to play every instrument & record himself as well in the process.

After 3 years of mastering his craft, he independently released the album "So Long And Thanks" (under the name Milmine) in November 2017. The album performed, written, recorded, and produced entirely by Tommy was a testament to where he was at with his music, creating a lush soundscape tinged with 60’s psych rock influences and classic love songs of yesteryear. With absolutely no promotion or marketing behind the project, the album’s lead single “Altered State of Mind” caught the attention of a prominent Youtube channel who uploaded an audio clip of the song to their channel and from there it was off to the races. To date, the album has eclipsed over 1 million streams across YouTube, Spotify & Apple Music.

Catching the attention of Toronto tastemaker Chieff Bosompra, who was instantly hooked to what he heard, making it his mission to find out everything he could about Tommy. Shocked to discover that he was a relatively unknown act, Chieff called his longtime friend, veteran Toronto producer & DJ 4th Pyramid to share his latest discovery. The two quickly realized they had found an incredible and unique talent and approached Tommy about working together.

Tommy and 4th wasted no time at all and got together in the studio to begin crafting his new album. His new single, “I Forgive You”, a funk soaked ballad that takes listeners deeper into Tommy’s idyllic world, is slated for release in June 2018.
